|Some of David & Heather's Favorites
|Favorite Season||Fall. The crisp air, walks among crispy leaves, the warm colors, bonfires, outdoor activities in comfortable air, this is my favorite season! ||Spring. I love the sun, the flowers, the birds chirping, walks with our pup Bailey, windows open in the house filled with fresh air....all of it. I just love Spring!|
|Favorite music||Jazz. Not elevator music. The kind that makes you bob your head, with drum solos or soulful singers, and R&B. || Christian worship music, R&B/Soul, and Urban Gospel Music. Some of my favorite musical artists are Alicia Keys, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Bethel Worship, Elevation Worship, Tye Tribbet, Mandisa, Toby Mac, and Kirk Franklin|
|Favorite way to spend time||Spending time with my Bride, Photography, just spending time with the people I love||Anything hanging out with David and friends is my favorite. It can be at home watching Netflix, going to the movies, taking walks on trails and "mini hikes", going to the theater/live dance performances, intimate little coffee houses, and events with live music, or playing games. Other than that, it would be being at the beach. It can be anytime/anywhere, just sitting, hearing those waves come in to shore, feeling the breeze on my skin, I just love it! It feels like home to me.|
|Favorite movie||So much from Disney! Especially the Lion King. I also love movies set in medieval times. ||Ever After|
|Favorite TV Show||Friends||Big Bang Theory|
|Favorite type of food||Puerto Rican!||Italian|
|I want to teach my child||to be a Black Belt||Care and compassion for others. This is something I was taught growing up, watching my father in his line or work, and in his day to day life. I truly believe that that can make all the difference in a person's life. I'm excited for us to get involved with helping others through our church outreach events and community. |
|More About Our Family
|Our Special Interests|
David has been training in martial arts for well over a decade. He currently teaches a class of children ages 5-12. No one is sure who has more fun in that class, David or the students! Although Heather doesn't train, she loves supporting him and watching him train and compete. Our karate family is already shopping for baby karate uniforms! David is also an avid photographer. Family is his greatest subject. David and Heather both look forward to capturing those special moments with your child that seem to go by in a flash, preserving them to be enjoyed over and over again.
Heather adores dogs! She enjoys taking our dog for walks and watching funny dog videos. Heather is excited to share her passion for flowers and animals with your child. Family trips to local gardens and gathering fresh flowers to enjoy at home will be a family pastime. Heather enjoys baking and cooking Puerto Rican foods she learned from David's mom. Christmas cookies will be a family tradition and empanadas and tostones will be a regular part of family gatherings as well. Crimping the sides of the empanadas and flattening the tostones will be your child's special contribution to the family meal.
We were both raised in Christian homes and accepted Jesus at early ages. We do our best to live our lives to reflect His love, His grace, and His salvation. We are both active in our church. David is head of the Safety and Security Team and is a Spiritual Coach. Heather volunteers in the nursery and is on the prayer team. We have been a part of our current church for 13 years. Prior to that, we attended a church in the city for about 7 years where we served in the Children's Ministry, Heather was on the worship team, and David was a sound engineer.
|Our Musical Interest|
We LOVE music. We were part of the school chorus and choir throughout their elementary and high school careers. Heather also sang in her college gospel choir and even did a tour with the choir in Africa. There is often music playing in our home as we are cooking, reading, working on our to-do lists, cleaning and so on. David has always been a collector of music, all different genres. He had cases and cases of tapes, and CD's, and then there were thousands of songs on his iPod, computer, and other devices. It is something that seems innate in us, that speaks to our souls. We also enjoy going to see live music as well as dance productions and live theater.
|About Our Home|
We have a 3 bedroom townhome with a walkout basement into the backyard. This leads out to an even larger open green space where we often see neighborhood kids playing pick up games. There are a lot of large tall windows allowing for a lot of natural light to come in. We have a semi-open floor plan, so it feels very welcoming and airy. One of our favorite spots in the house is the sunroom, right off the kitchen. The sun rises on this side of the house, so we get to see the sunrise every morning.
Our development has a large number of homes in it, many with children, it is in one of the most sought after school districts in our area, and is close to farms, parks, trails, and shopping. There are also two playgrounds in our development that are great for bringing kids to play. We love where we live because it is close enough to the conveniences and necessities of everyday life, all the while still getting to enjoy the quietness, greenery, and open space all around us.
|We live in the state of Pennsylvania|
David grew up in an urban area in northern New Jersey. Heather moved quite a bit growing up due to her dad's job with the Salvation Army but spent most of her life in New York State. Now they enjoy living in a lush, green suburb with beautiful parks and places to walk and drive, and simply enjoy nature, all while still being close enough to the conveniences of a larger city.
We live in a townhome development with many families. When the weather is nice we like to open the windows and listen to the children playing in the open space behind our home. David and Heather regularly see several couples and families walking their dogs or taking their babies out in the stroller. There are two playgrounds the neighborhood kids use often. We look forward to using them to one day, with your little one. Several kids ride around the neighborhood on their bikes or scooters and we often see families pulling their little ones in wagons, riding bikes together, or taking family walks together.
