|More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
Our love of farming led us to open our own farm equipment business in 2016, only 8 miles from our home. It allows us to travel and be active in our community. Our farm provides healthy meals with food from our garden which we love. We also love to try new restaurants and new types of food at fairs and festivals.
Our outdoorsy personality has helped us create traditions that we look forward to all year long. In the fall we enjoy visiting a cabin in the mountains of West Virginia to go hiking. We enjoy skiing at the nearby resorts in the winter. Playing at large lakes in the spring and summer beach days soaking in the sun. We also love to take turns choosing new places around the country to explore. Our new camper, which has lots of room for our growing family, is wonderful for all manner of trips! Family time camping means lots of food, water activities, golf cart rides, hiking, karaoke, mini-golf, family music and dancing, crafts, s'mores, bonfires, and so much more!
We love history! We have many classic trucks and we love old cars, tractors, and even enjoy renovating old houses and bringing them back to life. We have an interest in a little bit of everything and are grateful to make memories together, no matter what we are doing!!
Our faith is in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! As Christians, we believe in Jesus' unconditional love and in His promises for all people! Our Church family is loving, kind-hearted people, who are supportive, outgoing, and fun! The Church is very active in the community doing Vacation Bible Schools, church camps, parades, movie nights, festivals, and big cookouts. They are all so excited for our adoption!
Our Musical Interest
Having a musician in the house means our home is full of music all of the time! Justin has played the piano since he was 6. He can hear a song once and can play it instantly on the piano. We enjoy listening and dancing to all types of music!
About Our Home
A long driveway off the main road makes us feel like we own our own piece of Heaven. We have open flat land that the cows let us use for backyard football games, rolling hills that are great slip-n-slide or sled riding spots, woods for horseback and bicycle trails and a gentle creek to skip rocks and watch the ducks swim. We welcome lots of baby animals and fresh strawberries in the spring. The river is close by for summer fishing and tubing. Our beautiful mountains showcase their colorful leaves in the fall while the farm’s harvest of fresh veggies and fruit fill our table. Winter brings just enough snow to play in and warm fireplaces to keep us cozy. Our farmhouse has lots of character that make it feel welcoming. We love living in a quiet and safe place, where the stars light up the night and there is endless room to play and explore!
Our Family Traditions
We enjoy every holiday with family! Easter is church, big breakfast, egg hunts, and a family trip to the local zoo. We host Thanksgiving every year with lots of food, backyard football games, and lots of board games. Christmas Eve is feeding the reindeer a mixture of oats and glitter in the front yard while singing Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer so Santa's reindeer will see and stop at our house. Then Tiffany's dad dresses up as Santa and runs around the house picking up the oats and telling the children its time to go back to bed and he'll come again when they're asleep. We all camp out on the floor together in front of the fireplace. Christmas day is the reading of the first Christmas, loving exchange of thoughtful gifts, and then hours of playing and enjoying delicious food. Extended families gather at our Church basement for more fun and games on Christmas evening. We host cookouts with family and friends for Memorial and Labor day parties on the farm with hayrides, bouncy houses, water games, and more.
We live in the state of...
Country life means some space between neighbors, but not at heart. Our neighbors might be a few acres away but are loving, hard-working, people who are excited about us adding to our family. There are many children nearby for our child to play with. The small-town feeling is strong in pride for the local school programs and sports teams, community festivals, and town activities and parks. The school system is one of the best in Virginia and where Tiffany went to school. It offers many programs for any interest our child may have. We live in a safe area next to a small town, yet just a short drive to big cities.
