A Letter from Nick & Shannon

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us! We are humbled that our story is in your hands. You do not know us yet, but we have been praying for you and your child.

We are a loving family of four from Illinois. We enjoy being outside playing games with our dogs, traveling, cooking, and spending time with our family. We have always known that adoption was meant to be a part of our story and feel that God is telling us that now is the time! We are excited to now start this journey with you to grow our family!

About Us:

We were both born and raised in Illinois. We met in junior high and have now been together for over 13 years and married for almost 5 years. Nick is a maintenance manager and Shannon is a nurse in the emergency department. Together, we enjoy cooking, traveling, golfing, gardening, and enjoying our favorite sushi. As a family, we love cooking on the grill, riding our bikes, having picnics in the yard, playing on the swing-set, or playing fetch with our dogs. When inside, we are enjoying homemade popcorn and movie nights, blanket forts, puzzles, and snuggling up with some good books.

We always knew that adoption was a piece of the puzzle.  In 2017 we were blessed with the birth of our first son, Noah, and in 2019, we were blessed with our second son, Nash. After this and several hospitalizations, we learned that it was not safe for Shannon to have any more children. God quickly told us that it was now time for us to adopt.

We love being parents and raising our family together. Family is important to us and we can’t wait to grow ours by welcoming your child!

About Nick:

Nick is the perfect dad. He is silly, adventurous, family-oriented, and makes life fun. He is caring, thoughtful, laid back, and is always helping someone else before himself. Nick really enjoys cooking, especially for his family. You can usually find him surrounded by friends and family on our deck at the grill. Nick has always loved baseball (Go Chicago Cubs!) and was an active player growing up. Our boys enjoy being outside with Nick, cooking together, and eating his famous breakfast. He loves to teach our boys about kindness, laughter, and about the Lord. He is excited to do the same with our next child.

About Shannon:

Shannon loves people. Whether at home or working in the emergency room, Shannon shows so much love. She is beautiful, kind, smart, and outgoing. She loves being outside, doing yoga, reading books, and lives on good coffee. Shannon is an amazing mom. She’s calm, funny, and takes on all our family’s tasks effortlessly. Shannon is a gifted nurse and serving her patients to the best of her abilities. On her days off, she is always finding new and fun activities to share with our boys. Our boys enjoy her silly, adventurous, and calming spirit. She is extremely excited to include our next child in on all our bedtime stories, movie nights, road trips, and other family adventures.

Our Sons & Family:

Our oldest, Noah was born in 2017 while our youngest, Nash, was born in 2019. We love watching them run around in the yard! Noah loves cars and dinosaurs, while Nash likes dancing and following in his brother’s footsteps. They both enjoy playing with our two dogs, Avery and Ellie. We tell them every day that they will have a little brother or sister to take care of through adoption. They are both excited to take on the rolls of protective older brothers.

Both our parents live in the same town, and they all are actively involved in spoiling and loving our children. Nick has one brother and one sister. Shannon has one sister. We have two nephews and one niece. We are all very close, and together we enjoy family cookouts, game nights, and traveling. Our family is eager to welcome another child into our large family.  We are blessed to be surrounded by immediate family who love and support our family.

Our Illinois Home:

We live in a modest, 4 bedroom ranch that sits at the end of a private cul-de-sac. We already have a room ready to welcome your child. We have a playroom right off the kitchen so we can continue to be with one another while making dinner. Our private neighborhood is full of other children who all enjoy playing together. We host Christmas almost every year and always have the house decorated with lights inside and out. There is plenty of room to run and play- both inside and out!

Our Promise:

We promise to love your child with all our hearts and souls. We promise to provide them with a safe, happy, and faithful home where they can grow up supported and encouraged. We promise that they will grow up knowing their story and your love. We will help him or her to grow up to be a confident, well-educated individual with the drive to follow their dreams.  We look forward to getting to know you and promise to respect whatever level of contact you are most comfortable with.

Our Special Interests

We are a laid back Christian family of four from Illinois. In 2017 we were blessed with the birth of our first son, Noah John. In 2019, we were blessed with our second son, Nash Michael. We are excited to start our journey to adopt as we feel led by God to grow our family this way. We have always known that adoption was meant to be a part of our story.
We both enjoy the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with our families. We love movie nights, zoo trips, and carnival food.
We are excited to grow our family and share our interests with your child while supporting them as they explore their own interests.

Our Faith

We believe in the Almighty God and attend a non-denominational Christian church. We believe Jesus died for our sins so that we may have everlasting life.

Our Musical Interest

We were born and raised around country music, which is still our favorite to this day. We enjoy anything that has a good meaning behind the lyrics.
